Dean "DJ" Jude

" My name is Dean Jude. I'm from Martin Co. KY. Im 34 years old and came to Chad's Hope on January, 21 2010. I had a good childhood; had about anything I wanted growing up. My parents didn't drink, didn't do dope, and always got along with each other pretty good. When I was about thirteen my dad got hurt at work . That's when the devil took ahold of me. My dad would go to the doctor and they would give him medicine and he would bring it back and put it up in the cabinet because he didn't want to take it, not knowing that his son would expiriment with it.

By the age of 16 I was pretty much hooked. I was stealing things off of my parents to buy drugs because by this time my parents had figured out that I was getting pills out of their cabinet. They started putting them in a different place, but I would always find them. By the age of 22 I had been in and out of jail so many times I can't count. I had an overdose and after I got out of the hospital I went right back at it harder than ever.  I then robbed a store and got put back in jail and thought that was it. The judge said I was facing 15 to life in prison, but God stepped in and I was out in a about a year.

That kinda made me see things differently for a little while, then I started right back taking drugs; taking anything I could get. As long as it would get me high, I would do it. I got involved in some really bad relationships. Things just kept getting worse until I wound up right back in jail for a DUI. I knew after I got out I wasn't going back. I knew I had to get help. I knew I couldn't do it on my own and I had to have help.

When I first got here at Chad's Hope I was just looking to get off of drugs, but after a month I had asked God to come into my life. From that day on I have felt a peace come over me. All things are possible with God!!"
